CASE 05
End-to-End Data Management & Database-Lock Readiness
A representative Data Management lifecycle from EDC setup through study conduct, lock preparation and archiving.
Case Overview
Why this case mattered
A representative Data Management engagement illustrating TUNECT's end-to-end operating model. The focus is not a single rescue event but the disciplined management of data quality from database setup through final lock.
Startup → Lock
continuous Data Management ownership across the study lifecycle
Multiple EDCs
experience across major clinical data platforms
Controlled handoff
clean data prepared for downstream biometrics
The Challenge
What TUNECT walked into
Late-stage database-lock problems usually originate much earlier: unresolved queries, inconsistent coding, reconciliation gaps, poorly controlled changes or incomplete documentation. The objective was therefore to make database-lock readiness a study-long process rather than a final-week clean-up exercise.
Our Approach
How the project was handled
01
Study startup
Developed the Data Management Plan, supported database build and configured study-specific EDC workflows from the stable protocol.
02
Conduct-phase control
Performed ongoing data review, query management, reconciliation and issue tracking throughout study conduct.
03
Lock + handoff
Prepared database-lock activities in coordination with downstream programming needs and supported secure study-data archiving and Sponsor handoff.
This public case is intentionally generalized. Data Management assignments frequently contain study- and system-specific confidential information, but the underlying delivery model remains consistent.
Outcome
What changed
Fewer late surprises
Continuous cleaning and reconciliation reduced the risk of unresolved data issues accumulating at lock.
Downstream readiness
Biostatistics and Statistical Programming received a controlled, analysis-ready data source.
Traceability
The lifecycle from collection through lock and archive remained documented and reviewable.
